I've never hear it as an expression, just a prayer.
Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.
Amen.
*** this bit is wrong, "Mother of God". God had no mother, God was not birthed. God has simply always been. No beginning and no ending.

Mary could not have given birth to God since God existed before Mary did. God had no mother.
