I'm terrified of being in a helicopter. If you're not too far off the ground, and there's engine failure or something goes wrong with the propeller, chances are very high that you're going to get seriously hurt or killed. They just spin out of control when that happens.

I've only been in a helicopter once, flying over an active volcano on the island of Maui. I didn't think about the dangers.
A friend of mine was afraid of flying; claimed the only thing keeping you from a 35,000' fall was a fancy piece of plywood.
As for myself, being a passenger in an automobile is really scary. I prefer to be the driver.

Flying. Recently flew to Germany, and that was it. Never again. Prior to my departure back to the states, I swallowed at least ten Xanax, and drank three pitchers of beer. Have no recollection of the flight back. The fact that some else has my destiny in their hands is unnerving. Same with wife, hasn't flown in years.

I never been on an airplane, but I think that form of transportation frightens me most. I saw on TV how many plane are flying at once. Better hope air traffic controllers don't fly you into another plane. I was told when a plane is landing, it feels like a roller coaster. Is that true? I HATE roller coasters.

Bicycle (traffic), then a boat. Never been on a helicopter. Hot air ballooning I would love to do, perhaps until I got into the basket, that is. Always wanted to ride in one over the gorgeous mtns I live among. Still think I'd like it. Not afraid to fly. One day I will, on some momentous occasion.
