long time, and you recognized that party and/or that party recognized recognized you?(I ran into someone whom I hadn't seen in 37 years and recognized him. He didn't know who I was.)

It just means you have a terrific memory. I am very good at recognizing people because I have had to working in retail for so long... I have had to remeber their face, name, children... sad or happy stories... pets and or aquariums and what is inside that aquarium up to and including their shopping patterns in order to anticpate what they will need when they show up in the store every third Wednesday... for example. What brand of food the dog eats. Does the cat have allergies... you name it ... every customer wants to feel special.
A good friend of mine says that I have a filing cabinet memory and she has boxes with lids. I can open a drawer and pull the information out... she first has to find the box then locate the key and by the time she does that she has lost the box again.
You must have a filing cabinet memory and that person must have a box with lid memory.
Now, what I do is wait and see if they recognize me. If they do... "Hi! How's it going? Do you still have Binky? How is Carly?"
