True chestnuts are the fruit of the tree Catanea sativa and are normally eaten roasted.
I believe that this tree was struck by a disease in the USA some years ago from which it has never recovered.
Macadamia, I get them straight off the macca farms in my area, I also love hazelnut anything (chocolate, ice cream etc) had never eaten a pistachio until recently, no one told me about the shell, nearly broke my teeth, but they were good too, I make great pecan biscuits, everyone loves them,I found the recipe on the of the packet and they are truly fantastic
