Thank you!If your kids ever want a hamster get em a pair of rats instead,theyll love you for it!!But make sure theyre not a boy and girl(the ratties not the kids!!)

My sister had rats when we were kids and I have dealt with them over the years... I do have a phobia and I don't like them... I prefer chinchillas.  I love chinchillas.  My next pet is going to be a lop eared rabbit or two or ten ... I love them as well.

I bred hamsters for a pet shop  when I was younger.  I had 37 of them.  Those were the days!

the only rat i ever dealt with was when one came in my house. i was terrified. i clobbered that fat rat with a hammer. i mean he was huge! i hope i never see another.

i think its their tails people tend not to like,we had about 20 at one stage(we unwittingly bought a pregnant female)And the second time was when one of the males got in the females cage by accident.I was only nipped once,but she did have very poor eyesight
