What would you do differently, if doctor told you you had 6 months to live? That's what they told my sister & she started buying things, giving away things and organizing things.

I have inspired myself with my ideas.  Thanks Tabber.

Sorry about your sister.  I know this only too well.

    That sounds exciting fish girl.

Nothing .. i try to live each day as if it were my last and the last day if it were my first..

I am so sorry to hear that your sister was given that prognosis. I don't believe doctors should put a time limit on how long or short one is to live. Patients could and would live longer if left to their own wil in the matter. That's what I believe, anyway. I think thre have been studies regarding this. I don't know if I would buy things necessarily, but I would organize and start distributing my things so that the task would not be left to others when I'm gone.

i think she bought stuff because she felt it gave her a reason to get out of the house. Her motivation to go outside dropped a month or two before she died.

Oh, I am so sorry, tabber. I did not realize that she had died. I have only one sibling, a brother. I would be devastated if anything happened to him. I am so sorry for your loss.

I'd get a second, third and fourth opinion. Then I would expect to out live their diagnosis by a number of years as that often happens. I don't think I'd do much differently except to maybe eat healthier since the foods we eat are what's making us sick for the most part. Most of it is imported.

Watch Food Inc. You will instantly want to eat better.

she did second, third and forth opinions & she was scared to death. She told me it was scarier than Thriller, you know from Michael Jackson song.

And they all gave her the same time frame?

The fact is the average expectancy of life for both sexes has over the years increased substantially.

I'm sure that I would try to get things extremely organized so that it is not such a big chore for the person who has to step in and settle everything.  I don't know why I don't do that NOW!  I guess because we never believe that "the day" could come tomorrow.

So sorry about your sister, Tabber.    :(

thank you. my sister had a great life. She did it 'her way'. Lived and died a wealthy woman with two wonderful husbands. well one was wonderful. The other was the love of her life, but a little out there, too much for her.

I`d make sure my paperwork is up to date eg. my bank accounts, investment accounts, bill payments, Will, instructions not covered in the Will - that is different from routine.

I`d meet my friends and family more often wherever that be.

I`d  continue to be generous in every way and please people.
