"now how will you be paying ?

Usually they start asking what your child hood was like ,how you get on with your parents,how many siblings you have,who do you live with,do you take drugs,do you drink alcohol,what medications your taking,how long have you been feeling depressed,have you ever wanted to harm yourself or others,have you ever been in a pshyciatric hospital.

Ive only met one good social worker and ,yes,until recently i worked within social services.I wonder if  what they learn in the classroom  doesnt apply in the real world

Are the questions to ascertain IF the client is depressed or the depth of the depression or the causes(s) of the depression or the risk of suicide?

It doesn't really matter what they ask. . . . . . If you're going to top yourself their questions and answers answers aren't going to make any difference. If you're just depressed, what is all the fuss about? Most of us are depressed, but some hide it better than others. That probably includes the social worker who is asking the question, but, probably doesn't have any answers.

Have you ever suffered from a depression that lasted for years, the kind during which you lost ALL interest in EVERYTHING, couldn't eat, couldn't sleep, lost weight, lost friends, etc etc etc. You cannot state so glibly, "We're all depressed".
