Does anyone want to eat a snail or a slug? A young drunk man did it for a dare and now he is brain damaged!

    We are all doomed.

And they said that fish oil was good for the brain.

I'm too scared to eat my home-grown vegies now.

Do to them as they say on shampoo bottles.
Wash and repeat until clean. :)

I don't eat flesh ... not even that of a slug.

So at what cooking temperature are these critters rendered safe to eat…accidentally or intentionally. Ducks eat slugs and snails. Is this why they are Quackers? Are French hors d’oeuvre off the menu?

Wow, guess I better quit eating snails and slugs...........

Angiostrongylus is a parasitic nematode that can cause severe gastrointestinal or central nervous system disease in humans, depending on the species. Angiostrongylus cantonensis, which is also known as the rat lungworm, causes eosinophilic meningitis and is prevalent in Southeast Asia and tropical Pacific islands. The recognized distribution of the parasite has been increasing over time and infections have been identified in other areas, including Africa, the Caribbean, and the United States. Angiostrongylus costaricensis causes eosinophilic gastroenteritis and is found in Latin America and the Caribbean.

    Another thing to worry about.

Very smart. We have never had propblems like this before. The worst part is that the Government is trying to keep it quiet. It was on a documentary on Sunday night.

He should have stuck with the worm in the tequila....

no never would I know that slugs cause lung worm in dogs so why wouldnt it do that to the brain! madness

    eggplant

Animals are catching it too. Don't kiss your cat.

that's what I was thinking too - the drink not the slug.
    eggplant

No, the drink made him do it.

If I am not mistaken French they like to eat snail...but not me. Thank you very much!!!

A guy told me once that when he was "young", he felt that nothing could stop him or bring him down....he was pretty much immortal.
It seems the effects of drugs and alcohol bring about those invincible feelings along with a serious lack of common sense.
What a tragedy for this young man to have to live with the effects of a moment of stupidity. He's neither the first nor the last, which is even more tragic.
To answer the question.....nope, no slugs or snails for me.

Oh no I could never eat anthing like that.

Just to remind you, especially if you live in Southeast Asia, the Pacific Islands and Australia. People are at risk if they eat raw snails or slugs infected with this parasite.Rat Lung Worm (Angiostrongylus catonensis)

Don't you think it may have been the alcohol?

    eggplant

    Afraid not.

Maybe the slug had been tied in a knot....
Or it was being told to Head Toward The Light!
