That sounds so weird to me, lol. I can't imagine Christmas without it being cold and (hopefully) snow on the ground.

not sure what state your in pythonlover, but its really hot here, my power bill will be through the roof with the air con on all the time

We have put a Christmas tree in the family room. Our granddaughter has decorated it. This is the first time she has seen Christmas decorations and trees. When it gets nearer to Christmas we will take her out at night to see the lights on the houses. I'm sure she'll be thrilled. Today, she touched the decorations on a Christmas tree in the shopping centre.

Blown Fuse I would like to But we ahve a kitten and she will be up the damn thing and no doubt it will get knocked over so probly no I would like to as I love to dress the tree When I was at College I made a living at it once loved it but when its up in our house I cant wait to get it down Like Boxing day it comes down couldnt keep it up like most people

lambshank I will put the tree up as long as you come to the house and redress the tree when Phoebe has trashed it... is that a deal or not! xxxxx

....absolutely will decorate after Thanksgiving (next week).  Love the lights and decorations that go around the house and on the tree.  I have gold metal snowflake ornaments that hold a photo in each one.  I bought enough to have a set for each of my sons from Christmas 1 through Christmas 18.  There are some unfilled snowflakes, even though they are all over 18, but it has to be just the right photo!  Those are my favorite ornaments!

Oh My God! How beatiful. I have not heard of anyone doing that. What a great idea!

thank you....I really appreciate some kind words. Those ornaments are priceless, and all have a great story behind them. One of the last I filled was my youngest as a street urchin in a local production of Oliver Twist. He had a great experience and the photo is wonderful.

I already put two trees up at my inlaws business and decorated. We put ours up the day after Thanksgiving, with Christmas music, left overs, and hot chocolate (top with marshmellow cream and a candy cane) On Dec 5 we make a countdown to Chrismas chian out of constrution paper.

    that is fabulous!!!

Must admit weve not put any up for years, apart from anything else i reckon the dog would plough straight into the tree

See, it goes to show, you can do a lot for Christmas or just have fun watching the dog. & maybe not even think about Christmas. That's the beauty of this world.

    have only thought about it.

I'm going to do like I did last year. I bought a small 4' tree and decorated it with dollar store ornaments and lights. When Christmas was over, I donated the entire tree to GoodWill. I will also bring out my Christmas candles and doo dads that I place around the house. And I am thinking of putting up the Christmas village this year, which takes me at least 3 days. I've been collecting the components for years and it's quite extensive. I only put it up every 3-5 years and I have a few new pieces, so I think I might just do that. We'll be at our cabin, so we are hoping for a White Christmas. That will be the best "decoration" of all. Oh, and of course the stockings will be hung by the chimney with care ... 4 for the animals and 4 for the humans.

    wonderful!!!

This will be the first year I havn't, we are still in the process of replacing a kitchen and then have to leave the house to have the floors tiled, so Im in such a mess I don't think it would work this year, I will miss all the hoo haa tho, I love chrissy stuff and I adore all the lights, I always take our clients out for a drive at night so they can see them,I think I get more out of it though.

your welcome to our house! love ya xxxx

You know lambshank, that what my dad use to do when we were little, drive us around to see all the lights. When i am working with kids thur the holidays i drive them to see lights as well. my dad always put up a bunch of lights and still does & a white 6 foot cross. He use to wear a santa outfit & my mom. now he just wears a santa hat.

if i had Christmas treats my little doggy would eat them!!In fact i reckon hed have a go at the tree if we had one!He has a nasty habit of bringing home loose fence posts if he gets chance!!Only needs a few more and he can build his very own log cabin!

    lambshank

clever puppy, my cat dropped a bird in for the tree last year, took us days to get it back outside

Doubt I will bother with Christmas decorations, but my hubby will put me to shame, as he will put them up, even though he does not celbrate Christmas, but enjoys Christmas dinner.

Dollybird that's how my sister's house is. She likes putting up decorations. Her husband could care less. So some years she puts up a tree and some years she does not. But she does love all holidays, because that's how we grew up with my dad celebrating everything, maybe except holloween.

i put my tree up today. it looks beautiful. its white with colored lights and a couple strings of bulbs, and a star on top. i wish i could find twinkling lights for my tree!

    tabber

    fabulous! walgreens has twinkling lights.

    have only thought about it.

you know fjoel, sometimes you just don't feel like doing things. & that's great and fabulous as well. That's the beauty of choice.

My wife does the tree and outside decorations. I vanish for the day. I do hang two blue, inch and a half diameter balls from the rear view mirror in all my cars. Hence: the Blue Balls.

Putting my LED outdoor christmas lights up this weekend. Spent money to replace old bulbs with the LED to save power. Kind of pricy but will last longer .

    great!
