    why do red ear slider turtles jerk their heads

    When they walk?


    I have had a lot of red eared sliders and turtles are turtles.  Not all of their movements are fluid.  They also are an animal that is preyed upon and because of this they are always on the defensive unless cornered, then they will try to bite but only in defence.


    Let's face it, they are kind of clumsy... Cute and clumsy!
