My youngest daughter really wanted a cat.  Every time we went to a pet store or saw kittens she would cry all the way home, "I WANT A CAT!"

Finally the day came when she got that cat.  A lovely little rescue. 

My daughter had long brown hair almost to her bum and that little cat loved it.  The cat would chase my daughter up and down the hallway attacking her hair.  She really didn't want a cat anymore...a few years later she said, "Mom, I like cats in theory but not in practice."

It cracked me up.  That child was born a miniature adult.

my son when he was about 3 continued pulling out the garden plants, after numerous warnings I finally told him to find a stick so I could smack him, he came back a few minutes later, tears welling in his eyes and said "couldn't find a stick, but here's a wock you can throw at me"
