It was all of that but we (the dogs, birds and myself) got through it and everyone is safe and warm again. I was so afraid of losing any of my birds and fearful of fire from the portable propane heaters I was using. I only have two small ones that I hooked up to the 20lb tanks that you use on grills. I used one in the bird room and one in my office but only ran them when I was awake so the birds room did get cold when I was sleeping. They all made it through though. As for damage, I have one broken window from a limb but that's it. I was lucky :)

Yes, I am back and thank you all. I only have a  moment now as I'm trying to catch up and respond to the e-mails I got about certain intruders to our happy little forum. I'm cleaning house so if you know of anyone I need to get after, e-mail their name to me and I'll take care of them ;)  It's good to be back. It was cold, dark and boring (scary too sometimes) during the storm and outage. I'll post pictures tomorrow.

Thanks Mel. I won't be going away. The admin are on the war path about this. They are tired of it too. This is not what they created akaQA for. This crap will stop. They will not tolerate it. It's their forum and they draw the freedom of speech line and anyone who does not like that is welcome to leave. I'm just tired of the homosexuals always being the issue and the target. We do nothing to hurt anyone yet all these offended people (offended by the mere fact that we exist) think it's OK to hurt and insult us with their ignorance and religion. Well, it's not. They can all shut the H up.

It took me some time to get caught up with everything. I know Yvonne did very well for the few hours per day she can be on here, lol. It didn't help that one of the admin was away all last week too so Yvonne was virtually alone for the most part. The admin were unaware about my power outage. I guess I should have had my brother message them about it. I've already suspended a few undesirables. We'll be ship shape soon ;)

Speak to the CEO of CL&P (our major power supplier). His company dropped the ball on this one. A week is too long. They did not have enough back up help in place and were completely disorganized in their handling of the situation. There will be an investigation and heads are going to roll I think.

Come on Colleen let`s put them out of their misery, you have been in Switzerland and England with me, Not just a coincidence we have both arrived back at the same time, wink wink say no more.

Welcome back, you were really missed and we all worried about you and the animals. Scary how much mother nature can quickly remove from us. Just goes to show that with all of our great technology that we are still extremely vulnerable.

Thanks mom. This storm did move fast. It hit us 4 hours before it was suppose to and only an hour and a half into it, we lost our electricity. It was like the 4th of July and fireworks listening to trees and limbs come down all over town. There was no more than 15 seconds between the sounds of a tree or limb crashing to the ground. That was the scary part, just waiting for one to hit the house. Luckily only one limb did and it took out the outer pane on my window but didn't break the inner one. Phew.
