The library is a few blocks away, just beyond the toy shop and the gelato shop ... perfectly placed as far as I am concerned.

    2 good 2 b true. : )

Yes, I do use the public library.  It is less than one block away.  When my kids were little, we would get books all the time.  We borrowed alot of free movies, too....that was a good summer.

Many  years ago I fell in love with an artist's painting. She painted small dots on a chair and the chair sold for about $400.00. (Just a plain wooden chair) I made an appointment with her to go for tea or whatever. I knew she was 70 and at my young age I thought she'd be ancient. So I met her and it turned out that she wasn't old at all - not one bit. She stayed active - very active. We became good friends and stayed that way for a couple of years. I moved and lost track of her. (I didn't buy her painted chair but I did learn to paint like her. I was so slow I couldn't get much off to market)

I never pay attention to age anymore.

and what does this have to do with the library?? I used to meet her at a picturesque library and we'd make our Saturday plans from there.

I have a series with dots and dots and more dots. Over the top cute. I wish I could have seen the chair.
Was her work based on French Impressionism?

Not Matisse ... Oh who ... Can't think of it. It's late.
She dotter her front door. She painted her cupboards. She painted EVERYTHING.
Her husband had died and she was angry. She said, "He had absolutely no reason to die." It was heart attack, I think.
Instead of pouting around, she made dots.
    Like I do.
What are you getting ready for Christmas?

Hardly ever. I used to practically live there ... until the I-net!

I used to be a regular at the Yarborough Library (when I was homeless) and then I got into audio books (they had lots) but I kept some too late and now I owe them money so I can't go back until I pay the bill. Damn, and I want to check out THE HELP.......

I used to go to the library, but dont go anymore. Everything I need is on the Internet. Besides the Library is 20 minutes away.

I have enjoyed many great libraries. The library of congress is huge and amazing. Friends who worked there would let me in after hours and if I had only had a scanner…it was great. The university libraries are also excellent you can’t be barred from entry because they are government funded. Washington DC has great libraries and museums. With a little funding I could stay there. The Chemical library in New York great, I had a research office there for two years. Lots of free  agents data mining. At the time, research paid $0.35 per page of data on selected subjects. A thousand dollars a week isn’t bad, but it barely paid my cost of living.

We have a little local library where I am now and it is run by volunteers with funding to keep the lights on and little else. Kindles and the like are replacing libraries in the rural areas. Public libraries on line are becoming increasingly well stocked. However a lot of the older books and historical search for data is pretty sparse.  I have my own collection of books and references that are proving to be increasingly valuable. An old electronic book like mine sold recently on Amazon for $150.00. The value of a book is sometimes about the information it contains.
