It was explained to me this way...There are little hairs inside your ears that act like seaweed ... flowing back and forth in fluid ... telling your body where you are on the planet. Sometimes crystals form and stick to these hairs so they flop one way and then another. Because of this we become dizzy. It can last a day. It can last a week. It can last longer than that. You can get medication. It can come and go. Mine comes and goes. So does my Aunt's and my cousin's. We are one dizzy group! But we are cute and we can get away with it!
