      Yes. It can happen when someone drinks too much alcohol

        I knew someone who had Grape-like veins in his esophagus from drinking too much alcohol. When he had a cold and was caughing, the veins burst with such force, he did not make it.

        Varicose veins can develop anywhere in the body. If they rupture they will bleed and if they become inflamed they will swell. Seek a medical opinion.
