There are all kinds of prostitutes.  I would most likely look upon this person with an immense amount of curiosity. 

I don't walk in their shoes so it's not my place to judge them.  I have been in situations where they have intimidated or truly terrified me.

I agree with kimba.  There are many women in Asia that get into the trade in order to take care of their young ones.  Hence, to me, I think it's more honorable than some crooked CEO in a U.S. company that totally screws up his company and shafts all the investors in the process.  At least, with a prostitute, there's no facade as to how she makes a living.

I feel more sorry for them and wonder why they are in the situation they are in.

I've known several and they were just people to me. I'd never have know what they did if they hadn't confided in me.....

Yes, certainly, but  it can be left in your past if you grow and mature from your experiences.   Look for the right man and focus on him only, as an integral part of your life.   Time to settle.................

women and men have different reasons for this occupation. Some for the money, extra income, drug addition, college, survival.... doesn't matter. I find it heartbreaking.

I do agree with fish girl, some have scared me. A few pass through the ER and they can be very scary. Some show up beaten, raped and broken. It's not a glamorous profession. To much Hollywood. No one grows up wishing to be the Happy Hooker!

Yes, a woman can leave this in her past, it will take time to get over the psychological damage.

I don't look down on them ,i pity them.You ask can something like this be left in the past.It can, but will probably take some time to get your self worth back and to give your body and soul the respect that it deserves.Once you have your morals in place,there should be no looking back.

I agree with Vinny. Prostitution schould be made legal. It is for theire own protection and also protection against sexual disease. Pimps are very violent and abusive and that would eliminate the pimps. They would have to get a checkup every month for sexually transmitted diseases, They aso have to pay taxes and the likelihood of beeing murdered or beaten would greatly diminish.These girls come from broken homes, a violent past and have no family support. just girls that no one considers as human or important. Its pretty sad.

If she's a crackhead, meth head, yes. I read a story years ago about an orphanage in France during the WW 2 run by nuns who resorted to prostitution to feed the kids. God doesn't drop loaves of bread out of the sky. They sacrificed their dignity for the children. How could I pass judgement on someone like that.

I can't imagine anyone wanting to be in that kind of a lifestyle. Empathy is the only way I could explain what I feel towards anyone that has been in a place like that in their life. 

What about the men who pay them?Are they all innocent? If the men didn't pay then the girls would have nothing to do & nobody to look down on them. Maybe this answer is just to simplistic for some people but it takes 2 to tango.

I should point out that many years ago I met quite a few of them during my cab driving years. They were never a problem in the cab,they all paid the fare & were pleasant & cheerful.

 I wouldn't look down on anyone we are all sinners in need of forgiveness, no sin is worse that another sin.

God will forgive us all if we just ask and have the faith to believe.

I am leaving today for Paris. I will be visiting the rue St Denis where I shall be looking at many of the ladies on show, but I will not be looking down on them. Their profession may not be one that we would choose for our daughters, but as ' someone'  said   'let those who are without sin cast the first stone'.

I am thinking that if I walked in the shoes of someone that had to do that for a living I couldn't live with it.  I can only hope that someone who had to do that could find peace and live beyond it...find joy, find love and love themselves.

How brave are they!!! - too scary for me never know what psycho you will meet It takes two to tango but better to dance as one and I do not mean alone.  We used to say when we were earning £11.00p per month for a 48 hour week that we'd earn more down the road in Soho. But not for us.They do get health checks.Get rid of the pimps -  let them do it by choice and of course without the men there would be no prostitutes as Tommy says it takes two to Tango - .
