Some questions posted here are a insult to our inteligence,maybe if you asked a more sincere question you would have received positive feedback.As for the paper clip question, which i didn't see, my answer would have been who ever invented it sure would be a rich person today.

This excuse isn't going to fly with me. It's thin and lame. You've seen enough obnoxious first questions to know when someone is yanking a chain. This was no test of a person's kindness. OOOH, I sound P.O.d don't I.
That question was begging for the answers given.

There is no way to predict how any one will respond to a question . You were trying a social experiment to elicit answers . What did you expect ????? I don't think people are inherently mean . To get a better handle on this you will have to do some more experimentation before you can have a definative answer. From my experience here most answers have some degree of compassion and kindness. Some people ask questions that only require being pointed in the right direction and are dismissed as not being revelent . Why this is I dont know . We are a sum of our experiences both in what we have done and whats been done to us . Some cities and enviornments are toxic in there day to day conditions that is reflected in someones response to a question . You might want to factor in the geographical location of responders to your questions to determine whos thinking what and where . For example people in the south will respond differently to questions about dogs than those in the north ,city and country folks will vary widly in there answers as well. My opinion is people arent mean ,they have a lot of flaws for sure . Hope this helps . Bill

Sometimes people don't mean to be unkind and I appologize about the paper clip thing. I am grateful you pointed it out.
I actually thought the question was posed for ridiculous answers. If I made you feel bad in any way...well just poke fun at me the next question....or ten.

I've heard tell that there was a man on here who made a statement and then forgot what he'd said and got in an argument with himself when you scrolled down the page. We can get very serious on here and then again ... WE CAN LAUGH.

I looked at your paper clip question. Honestly, that question was tantamount to pouring blood and guts into shark infested waters. YOU ARE ASKING FOR A FEEDING FRENZY when you ask what amounts to a really poor question by even low standards. I'm surprised you aren't operating on negative karma from that question. REALLY POOR. F-
The people here, for the most part (and I am talking about the ones who have karma points in at least 5 digits) are fairly serious about offering advice and thought behind their answers. Their questions have integrity.
Sweetie, you set yourself up for and got what you deserved. Be glad I didn't see that paper clip question fiasco before I saw this question. I might have made the answers you did get seem kind in comparison.
