    The yolk.


    A double yolk.


    It is difficult to say without a picture.

    11 months ago this question was asked.  I don't mind answering questions that make sense regardless of the time lag but why pull this one up?

    This is actually a good question. I think a lot of people and even youngsters wonder about that small white mass attached the the yolk is. I know I did when I was a kid. That mass is what the chick forms from and it's attached to the yolk with something similar to an umbilical cord and the yolk is used as food for the forming chick.
