My daughter was born in July, 1990 and I searched and searched for a proper name for her as she had Irish blood on both sides. I eventually chose "Caitlin" ,which is Gaelic for Catherine and was one of her Grandmothers name.It was a strong, yet feminine name. Didn't know ANYONE with that name!! I scored for her, I thought! Where did all the other caitlins, katelyns, kaitlins, etc come from at the same time?? I always wondered how name trends came about. I was part one and still don't know how it happened!!!
