I did. If you are AWOL from school, you might get in trouble for being truant. I got a week of detention for skipping one day of school (took a ride to SF, 3 hours away. had a blast. Got caught because my mom got a ride to school to pick up the car and neither it nor I had been seen all day).
BUT, most likely there won't be any consequences. Just don't make a habit of it.
