Obsession: (not from the dictionary) is an irrational, overwhelming interest or desire in someone or something to the point where it may be constantly on a person's mind, consuming one's thoughts and often preventing a person from functioning adequately.
Example: I am obsessed with exercise and am at the gym for 5 hours every day. I do situps while I watch TV and squats while brushing my teeth.
Example: He was obsessed with winning the lottery and purchased 100 tickets at a time.
Example: That freshman girl has an obsession with boys. That's all she ever thinks about.
