Go somewhere away from the path of the hurricane if you are in it's direct path. If you're only going to get hit with the outer edges of it, batten down the hatches, hang on and hope for the best.

1. Make sure you have bottled water, ice and a cooler to place it in if you lose power.

2. Fill your vehicles up with gas. Pumps will be down if you lose power.

3. Have $300 cash or more on hand. ATM will not be operational if power is down.

4. Fill up your bathroom tubs with water.

5. Move EVERYTHING from your front and back yards that can become deadly projectiles. The smallest thing can get throw through your windows and kill you or do significant damage.

6. Candles are cheap and efficient. Buy them and matches, lighters.

7. WATCH ALL THE PORN YOU CAN BEFORE THE POWER GOES OUT ON YOUR PC OR LAP TOP.

I could only wish and hope a cat. 3 hurricane would end up in west texas. It still would not be enough rain.
