    what is the difference in Cream of Onion soup and French Onion soup

    In French Onion soup, the onions are browned or caramelized.
    It's usually made with beef consomme, has a bread crouton & cheese,
    lots of cheese, forming a crust, which is browned under the grill.Cream of
     onion soup is usually creamed with fresh cream or whole milk and made with chicken stock.

    Cock-a-leekie soup is basically leeks, potatoes,and chicken stock, not really one of my favourites.
    She hasn't tried that one yet mate.
