    Where did the expression "Taking a Crap" come from?

    Even though the modern day toilet was invented by Thomas Crapper, it wasn't until the Second World War that the expression became famous.  The American GIs in Europe would often be heard saying "I have to go the crapper," and eventually evolved into "I have to take a crap" for short.


     

    Although it's not quite the answer I was looking for, you, as usual, managed to put a smile on my face.  I am glad the question was "take a" instead of "fulla."  :))



    Hint: Although the phrase was believed to be introduced in Europe, it was started by the Americans.                                                                                                

    I think having a crape ,is more correct,  {taking}  reffers to taking the piss,
