daren, this must have been a tough decision. Most people though will not do it for selfish reasons. You made the right decision.

yes, you definitely made the right decision.

To close my Harley shop and go to work in the oil patch. A good choice as it turned out.

Nothing compared to your choice daren1, but big for me at the time.

Like Randy, shutting down my business to be a full time carer for our daughter. The loss of income was the biggest stumbling block, but we manage because we have made some drastic changes to our life style.:)

What a great, caring father you are. God be with you and your family.

my heart goes out , i went through the same thing with my mom,i'd say their hanging out in heaven with the big guy.

that is so touching daren1. brought tears to my eyes.

I had to do the same with my father and my husband. That was the worst emotional pain I have ever experienced.

I was told I had to fire my best friend--  Very hard to do.  This is why i will never work for a big corporation again.  Regardless of his situation, it should have been understood with compassion that he was my friend and they  should have had someone else in management do that terrible job. Corporations have no compassion for its workers..  I soon left on my own accord after that and went to a privately owned company where i see the owner everyday and he is a great guy..

good vinny. did you stay close with your best friend? did he understand?
    Vinny

Yes, we talk or email almost everyday.. He understood fully.. Fact is, he realizes he had it coming.. Regardless from whom..

carmax ..I think you're brave and wise. you did the most difficult thing that can be done. i had the opportunity to let my mother got when she was on life support. i couldn't do it -- i was too young.

I regretted the decision to keep her alive for about 20 years.

right now I'm in the process of making the biggest decision in my life. Oh, I've decided. I just haven't done it.
