describes whether a subtance is a soild, liquid,or gas
Answers: 2 Views: 289 Rating: 0 Posted: 12 years ago
EXAMPLE: snow and ice are solids: bring them into the house they become a liquid: heat the liquid they become a gas. Particles and how they move determines how much change must take place before a substance can move between states of solid, liquid and gas. solid for water 32F for solid Ice cubes above 32 becomes liquid boiling 240F and then becomes a gas. Each liquid has a different freezing and different boiling point. with water adding salt will change it's solid, liquid and freezing point. Salt water will have a lower freezing point and so this will change the liquid stage and gases stages. Try this: put two pans of equal amounts water on the stove. place salt in one and none in the other turn both on at the same x, temp and see which boils faster.

What was the average weekly factory wage in 1909
Answers: 6 Views: 686 Rating: 0 Posted: 12 years ago
Before the fire in 1911in NY CITY garmet workers WERE NOT UNION worked 10~ 12 hrs day and no rules or child work laws existed. The workers tried to start a union but jobs were lost and nothing was being gained because no laws existed to protect the workers. Fire alarms existed but were not manitory. Fire stations did exist but ladders did not extend, I believe , above the third floor. I believe at that time workers received between 3 and 6 dollars a week. No overtime was paid and no health, life or insurence of any kind was advaiable to the workers. Before 1909 workers may be station all over the garment districk but around 1910 the workers were housed in one area. Their were usually two sets of stairs but one was resticted so that workers could not steal scraps of material and take it home with them. Their bags were checked for scraps and if found were fired on the spot. Most floors the workers were jamed in with about 50 employee per floor. I remenber it well. not! I am glad" we have come a long way baby" since then. Did they have lunch breaks? Where were the bathrooms? Some building had lifts-who could use them? only the boss? what did you do if you got hurt on the Job? What did you do if you got sick? They had phones but most worker did not, how could you call out sick? Other questions exist but some we will never know. Yes the owners had insurance for the owners protection but not for the employees. SAD days for all those worker, the lad to come to find freedom and richesHMMMMM

I fell down my basement steps and broke both my wrists and dislocated my right wrist too. surgery was planned for my left wrist because the boan had splintere. I had bought magnetic for my shooes since I am on my feet all day but had not tried them yet. I wrapped those suckers around my wrists. well the one they were going to operste on,( left wrist) started to heal within 24 hrsand the splinter bone allined correctly. Both my wrists were casted but winthin 3 weeks, twice as fast as normal they were both compleatly healed. The bracelets--I do not know but I believe in the magnetics. I was 52 yrs old so not an young chick but not an old hen either
