In Florida, if I am coming from a driveway and there is a school bus to my left and I am turning right and do so, why am I given a ticket for passing a school must and a MUST APPEAR. I did not pass the bus.

looks like you need the bus drivers testamony to exonarate yourself

Hadn't thought of that. Should be easy to get info on the driver that drives that route, then supeona him/her. If the ticket states he "passed" the bus, I'd say he has a case.

yeah....definetly says passing a school bus. No witness though. Dont even know that the bus driver was aware that I was pulled over since the cop had been behind the bus and I was in a driveway in front of the bus????
It would have been wise to wait until the kids were off and clear but legally I can't see where you broke the law. I'm sure you wanted to get in front of the bus so you won't need to stop behind it several times and maybe didn't stop and look before you pulled out and that might be where you was wrong,

Yeah I stopped at the end of the driveway. Kids were already off the bus and away from the bus. I made a right hand turn onto a single lane road in front of the bus that was stopped (I was headed in the same direction of the bus)...but the citation reads passing a bus (which I did not do) and it is a MUST APPEAR???

Do you have a witness, if so I would take them and fight it and ask for compensation for your time, you won't get it but let them know your time is worth something.
Doesn't seem right to me, unless there's something missing here. I'm sure you asked the cop that wrote the ticket, unless they just took the bus driver's word for it.

The cop was behind the bus. I didnt argue I just said I didnt pass a bus.

There is a certain distance when approaching an oncoming school bus that you must stop. Perhaps you were in violation of that statute. Fight this ticket, big points, insurance will kick your ass also.
NO ONE IS TO MOVE?? within a certain distance around the school bus area.
Should a child live on the corner house where u took your RIGHT TURN, you may have hit him/her. You did no pass the bus, but you moved in the school bus non-moving area~hence u passed in the bus area of non moving area. Always always always stop for a school bus. Better wait the minute or two verses the havey fine that occures when children are concerned! Do not fight it u will not win when school buses and children safty are concern u will never win nor should anyone but the children!

    Good luck in the feature.
