my son died april 8 2011 from polycythemia vera in the hospital,he had 3 seizures the last one he went into cardiac arrest .Do you think he felt any pain before he died?

my son died april 8 2011 from polycythemia vera.He collappesd april 7,died 24 hours later.The hospital wanted a autopsy .Because he was only 32. What are systems of p.v.,because I didnt know he was sick.
