what is william and kate last name
Answers: 4 Views: 460 Rating: 1 Posted: 12 years ago
Their official title is "Duke and Duchess of Cambridge". If William ever troubles to have his own calling card printed, it need only carry the single word "Cambridge", because the custom amongst the British aristocracy is to assume that everyone knows who you are anyhow, so no more information is needed than that. William's royal family name is Windsor, but Robbsusan can safely assume that he and his wife will have several other titles. Oh, and by the way, Robbsusan, in the VERY VERY VERY VERY unlikely event that you will ever be permitted to meet either of them, you MUST address the young woman who was so recently just plain Kate Middleton as "Your Grace" and "Ma'am". One wonders if all this adulation of William and Kate will last as they get older. It's true "Wills" is 3rd in line for the throne but his Granma shows every sign of living to 100 years old and staying Queen, by which time Willam's father (Prince Charles, Duke of Cornwall, next in line) will be about eighty five years old and will probably live just as long. I agree with "Digger" above that a good name for the whole family would be Freeloader. Hopefully, quite soon, the British public will have had enough of the whole Royal system and the country will be a republic. Then The Duke could join the ranks of the unemployed and homeless, unless he can get a job as a heli pilot. I suppose Kate might be able to face up to the hard graft of shelf-stacking at Tesco. If she has common-sense enough. Roll on the day.

BLEACH COULD ATTACK THE RUBBER SEALS ETC. THE RECOMMENDED WAY TO CLEAN OUT A W/M IS TO RUN A CYCLE AT HIGHEST TEMPERATURE, USING NORMAL SOAP POWDER. aLSO, VENTILATE THE MC REGULARLY BY LEAVING SOAP DRAWER AND LOADING DOOR BOTH OPEN TO ENCOURAGE THROUGH-AIRFLOW.

what is the baggage weight for international flights
Answers: 2 Views: 388 Rating: 0 Posted: 12 years ago
It varies; budget airlines will permit up to 15kg for free; others up to 25kg for free and then charge (very expensively)for each kilogram above that weight..

What is the best nutrition to consume on a long bicycle ride?

I seem to remember seeing a long-distance cyclist on TV who swore by pastas such as macaroni, spaghetti, etc as best suited to his energy needs.

is there a link between the English civil war and the US civil war?
Answers: 1 Views: 246 Rating: 0 Posted: 12 years ago
Other than both wars being CIVIL wars, it's hard to see any links, or even comparisons. The two wars happened two hundred years apart. There were different issues being fought over; in England, a tyrannical King versus an opposing religious fervour on the part of ordinary people. As a Brit, I understand that the American civil war was fought over the issue of freedom for black slaves. No wars are ever quite that simple, however, so there may have been side issues that I don't know about. However, at first glance at your question; there doesn't seem to be much in common.

If Kate becomes Queen if Prince William becomes King, why isn't Prince Phillip a King, since he is married to Queen Elizabeth?
Answers: 16 Views: 7198 Rating: 0 Posted: 13 years ago
Prince Phillip was not directly in the line of inheritance to become Monarch. His wife was, when she was Princess Elizabeth. She became Monarch and Phillip became Consort, not King. William is directly in line (2nd) to become King and Monarch, after his father Prince Charles becomes King, on the death of Queen Elizabeth. The new monarch is always the eldest child of the dying monarch, whether the heir be male or female. This is the rule of Primogeniture, meaning firstborn. Your question raises yet another question which will need to be decided earlier. What title will be given to Charles' wife, Camilla, if and when Charles inherits the throne?

How can we persuade people asking questions that it's often vital to tell us where they live, as in which country?
Answers: 3 Views: 428 Rating: 0 Posted: 13 years ago
This is a very valid point and I accuse Americans in particular of seeming to be COMPLETELY UNAWARE that there are 183 other countries on this planet.

Opinions please, where is the best medium size town to live in in France, items to consider, culture, climate, beauty, facilities i.e. hospitals schools shops markets etc.

I've visited Besancon in the Franche Comte twice and consider it to be a pleasant-sized and situated place. It is largely tourist-free, quite handy to the Swiss and German borders and is situated in quietly-pretty largely wooded and agricultural terrain. It is a university city; nearest airport Dijon, about 40 miles. On the TGV route for fast trains to Paris.

is the world gonna end?
Answers: 9 Views: 1275 Rating: 1 Posted: 13 years ago
The British will be very offended indeed if the world DOES come to an end in 2012 because they have spent absolute millions on building stadiums for the Olympic Games. Personally I don't care if the world does come to an end, just so long as it happens after I die.

honi soit qui mal y pense
Answers: 1 Views: 480 Rating: 0 Posted: 13 years ago
In the Royal courts of England it was considered a mark of education and culture to be able to speak French. An English King (perhaps Henry eighth) saw that a lady was in trouble when she was dancing at a Royal ball. Her garter was slipping down her leg. As was his right, he commanded the musicians to stop playing and he walked over to her and knelt before her, notwithstanding the fact that he was the King. Then he slid the garter down her leg, held it up for everyone to see, and called out "Honi soit qui mal y pense" which is French for "Evil be to he who evil thinks". So nowadays it could be seen as meaning "If you think something is going on here, are YOU so blameless?" Postscript from Cammy; Perhaps HSQMYP would be better translated as "Shame on YOU if you have evil thoughts". I rather suspect that Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense is the motto of the English monarch.
