Rolex offering and delivering to customers a Daytona without the word Daytona on the link dial is the company's link hat-tip to, in my opinion, the ultimate serial-production sport chronograph. All of those advertising efforts to introduce customers to the great Daytona are thrown out the window. Big link Red and Cherry Red Daytonas are great, but the simplicity of this variant is something that really speaks to me.

With the link SBGK005 equipped with a lower key strap, I set out to wear it every day for a week (alright, in this case I enjoyed it a few days longer than that, which should tell you where this is going). As I mentioned earlier, this is a watch that benefits from some quality time, but that doesn't mean that it has a "break-in" period or link anything like that. From the moment I first put it on, I enjoyed it. With that blue dial sparkling link back at me, it was tough to argue.

In terms of context, where the Fifty-Eight gave the Black Bay line an even link wider appeal, the FXD is definitely a more niche expression link of Tudor’s do-it-all diver. It’s not link as niche as, say, the P01, but it’s also decidedly not the Pelagos Fifty-Eight (or GMT) that some have been wishing for.

There is already so much to love link about the Royal Oak design so when it comes to variations of the link looks, whether it be via different complications or sizes, the watch in question is already off to a great start.
