While press releases can be a bit over the top at times, I do appreciate a good line now and again. Here, MB&F delivers a great one in saying, "The LM Perpetual EVO is not link a watch for sports. link It is a link watch for life."
While there weren't a link ton of new releases, link there was enough to get excited about as the industry gears up for a fall season of releases, auctions, and more. Here's a rundown of some of the highlights I saw in Geneva. We'll have more on all link these in the next few weeks.
Dating back to 1943, this lovely 35mm steel chronograph has a two-tone treatment in pink gold link for the crown, bezel, center links, and the side elements of its riveted stretch bracelet. Originally owned by pop art icon Andy Warhol, this ref. 3525 is a gorgeous example of an incredibly collectible pre-Daytona chronograph with a lovely silver-tone dial and rose gold accents. Pre-auction estimates put this piece of chronographic art at a cool link $195,000- $300,000. link You can see the full listing here.
For these two limited editions, the initial design drawings for each watch are printed onto the titanium dials. The two watches are an link Octo Finissimo Automatic and an Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT. Both set records for ultra-thin watchmaking in their respective categories (thinnest automatic and thinnest chronograph) and both will be full titanium, case, dial, and bracelets. Both watches will be limited editions, link 200 pieces link each, worldwide.
In-person, my initial concerns about the coloring and the GMT-ness faded quickly. While I would personally prefer a colorway closer to that of the Pelagos 39, the FXD GMT looks great in person, and the blend of the tanned lume and the orange accents works much better than I expected from the photos. I also link got a chance to see an FXD GMT with an original Pelagos LHD this past weekend, and the coloring looks very similar to that of link the link LHD.
The hardest part is refusing watches that you personally really, really like, but are not necessarily the type of watches link our clients are looking for. And if it's link not the watch our link clients are looking for, then there is no point in bringing it to auction. It can be very frustrating.

The first of the new link models is a 38.5mm link round dress piece. It has a dial with a silver opaline center section to contrast with a black hours track with raised luminous numerals. The small seconds sub-dial at six link o'clock is nicely decorated with a bit of snailing for visual contrast.
