Yes, I am on SSDI for now going on 6 years. I used to work for one of the biggest Pharmaceutical Co. in the world for 9+ years, after I graduated from college. Then one day while four wheeling I broke my back and pushed 2 disc in to my spinal cord. To make it short, I lost everything. I can not be on SSDI anymore. I get 1k a month! I was making over 80k a year. I could not walk or even move my legs for over a year. Then one day I noticed a small twinge in my right quad. I started going back to a physical therapist and after 1.5 years of intense rehab I could walk with only these ankle braces that pick up my foot when I walk b/c that is all I can not flex, it is called drop foot. I got a different pharma job for 9 months but, I had to carry too much and walk a lot every day and travel over a huge area in west Texas and New Mexico which my back could not take after having 4 spinal surgeries. I have decide to get my teaching certificate and teach the subject I graduated in, Biology in HS. There's a high demand in TX and even though I will never make as much money, $50k a year for a science teacher is better than $1k a month as a bum. I hope it all works out b/c when I was sitting on the better and could not move any muscles in my leg, I was about to blow my brains out, seriously.

Topics that relate to peoples real life experiences. Others like "what do you think" or more "opinion related questions" are not as interesting to me either. I like questions and answers that let people share their real life situations and experiences to help others who are dealing with situations that the answerer has dealt with or experience with before in their life.

Improvement is on the way. I recently received an email from akaQA, they are working on a new interface that will encourage votes on questions and answers. This will close the racist and outlandish question and encourage up votes for good informative answers and down votes for ridiculous answers. I hope this clarifies some concerns.

Allow users to gain Karma points for those who vote others Q & A up or down. Some people have a bunch of Karma points but practically no votes for others Q & A - up or down. People who ask a question should be checking the answers they received to find out an answer to their question. They should at least vote what they understand to be the most correct answer to their question. As well down any irrelevant or incorrect answers.
