If you won the Lottery or inherited a Billion dollars, what would you buy or do with some of the Money?

What do you think the first thing you'd buy would be?

Would you give some/all the money away to charity?

    Set my children for life.

    Donate to,

    Guide dogs for the blind.
    RSPCA. (US ASPCA)
    Cancer research.
    Leukemia Foundation.
    Deaf Society. (Help organisation)
    Heart foundation research.
    Rural Fire Brigades.

Probably others that do not spring to mind, if I had any left I would get my car repainted.

I totally believe you. Wonderful response. I'm tired. I'll answer tomorrow. I will not be so giving cuz I know right now I'd start with a mansion. No! I wouldn't. I have to think.

First thing I would do is give my offering to the Lords church. (referred to as tithe in the old testament) . Next, I would donate money to help the ASPCA,Humane Society, and pet rescue groups. I would build one of the largest and most amazing pet rescue center that anyone has ever seen.

Good answer C.B., You could open up franchises all over the world with that kind of money!

I would like to build countless numbers of animal shelters.Get anyones pets desexed for them, help to pay veterinary fees for people that can't afford them.I would be on one big animal crusade to" save the animals".

    Thank you; my sentiments exactly!
Remember the old tv show "The Millionaire"? I'd be like that guy, searching out deserving people who are down on their luck, and help them out.

    Good answer.
i would give the Salvo's several million, the kids enough to set them and their children for life and for myself i would travel and hopefully meet up with the regulars on this site and a ball. === i may even buy QUEENSLAND.
For a start, I'd remain in the same house. I'd buy a new car every year. I'd go for a six month's holiday on the QE2.I'd personally give money to help someone who needed it. None of this Unicef and Red Cross. Have you seen how much they get in wages every year. Hardly any of the money you give goes to charity.

Someone who needs some, is not charity?
If I won 1/2 a million, I would keep 10g & give the rest to Trocaire or similar charity & NOT THE ONES THAT CREAM OFF the first 20% OR MORE. Some people are so greedy, "I'd waste it all on myself "

Pay all my bill off and give everybody in my family and close friends money at last make a foundation to help all the people the money left could help.
i would give each one of my kids 1mil. and i would get shelters and help for abused women since i have been there and wished for help.

What a unselfish answer, very good thank you. I really have a heart for the forgotten or abused of our society. The homeless and the single mothers especially their children.

i would buy a thousand scratch off tickets for something to do while i decide how to spend my billions

    I would stop dreaming.
I would most deffinately donate some to some sort of animal charity such as the RSPCA or the guide dogs foundation. this would be my number 1 priority.

    Flip took my answer, TU

That would be a full time job, finding people that deserved and could handle a million.

I would try to re-vitalize communities that lost industries that were their life blood, focusing on more advanced technologies and development and their application within already existing industries, with a portion of profits going to help people get back on their feet. I would try to operate within the philosophy that, "It is better to teach a man to fish, rather than to just give him a fish."
I think there are newer and better ways of doing many things, and we need to wake up and face the reality that we need to re-think and re-tool after having the rug pulled out from under us by NAFTA. We need to make ourselves self-sufficient energy wise, otherwise parts of the rest of the world has a strangle hold on us.
I once worked in a place that had a big banner on the wall that said, "Work smarter, not harder!" We have the capabilities, the technology, and the people to implement that approach to many, many things. But, as a nation, it is like we are standing here dumbfounded by what is going on around us. Now is not the time to do that...now is the time to change that.

I would definitely start an invention company to help those who don't have the money to go forward with their ideas. This would help a lot of people better their quality of life, I think that would make a real difference in this world.

I would buy myself a home of my own, pay off my bills and then help some others that truly needed help.
i would give some money to people that are down on their luck, but willing to help themselves, including my kids.................also go on a gambling spree with my honey............

well to do a dream i have ,if i won a billion dollars i would have to go and borrow to really get started with the dream,            but to answer your question more directly,             maybe i would buy a small town   for people who really needed a cool place to live, and make it work for them,

Excellent answer, sounds like you really care about others, you can't go wrong with that attitude, keep it up.
