I used to like to hear Burt Reynolds and Jerry Reed talk on the CB radios on the Smokey and the Bandit movies.
Thank God the fade is no more. My wife made me insane with that damn radio. I swear she knew half the people in America. She's now driving with her feet and texting, what's next?

    That does sound familiar.
    I'll be 10-8
The company I drive for has a company radio and a CB in each truck. They are very useful in keeping tabs on where you might have some cop hiding off the side of the road trying to find an easy target, or when the cops with scales decide to set up shop on the side of a road. They are also useful when you are loading under a silo, in that the plant operator can tell you when you need to pull ahead instead of having hot top rolling over the sides of the truck. Each plant loads differently, in how many tons they'll do in a drop...and you can otherwise have a huge mess on your hands within 2-3 seconds. So, yeah, they are still getting plenty of use these days, but probably only in certain circles...not like in the seventies.

I remember the CB radio trucks stops called choke and puke. Watching for smokey Bear and the movie smokey and the bandit.""
