They make tons of money off of their investments, they do have an inside track on where to invest, politics is a very crooked arena. They should all get minimum wage in this economy.

We have 100 senators who earn $174,000 a year. Representatives of Congress (who knows how many there are) earn the same. The Speaker of the House earns $223,000. Majority and minority leaders earn $193,400. The average American median income is $52,000. Priceless. And they have cut Social Security to which they don't even contribute.

I think its time we have a whole new congress get rid of all the bums start over with a new congress with people who has common sense not a law degree outlaw special interest groups, lobbyst etc. it may take a few yrs to do but it can be done come election time vote them out

As most elected officials are lawyers by trade, how many of these lawyers would give up their day job making much more than 150k and work for less?? There's residuals of being a politician, lifetime benefits of pensions and medical and many have a personal agenda of being in the driver's seat controlling money making schemes that make their investments of land ownership, zoning etc work for them and their future as well as the people that elect them. There's always an agenda of why a person will run for office, they are for the people but their select people, this is why we have so many of them and a two party system so that they can look after each other.

I am quite sure each & every one of them obtains that much & more, earn and is doing what should be done to earn their pay ? NO.
