my dog is 14 years old, weights 20 pounds and has stopped eating. she is still drinking water but wants to sleep allot. her stool is smelly, runny, and it looks like she is consitpated, but can't go. I have no money now for an emergency vet, what should I do? Thank you.

This is confusing, you said the stools were smelly and runny and then you said you thought she was constipated. It's a case of one or the other but not both.

If she is not eating, a dog can only go just so long without nurishment before complications will set in.

Your description could be many things and the only answer is to take her to the vet. If you can't afford the emergency vet, wait until tomorrow and make an appointment with your regular vet and tell them what is wrong. They should fit you in quickly if possible.

    Good luck.
