Moderators are not announced. Moderators have the choice to be open or remain behind the scenes. I chose to be a visible mod so you guys could know you have someone you could come to or post to about concerns with the site and know you have a voice with the admins.

There is no voting. The admins select a moderator (I believe) based on the person's time with the forum, their dedication to it and to helping it to run smoothly ie: reporting site issues or issues they see discussed on the forum and the ability to answer a multitude of different topics and help guide people to helpful answers since that is really what this site is all about. These are my thoughts, not the admins. They may have a whole list of things they consider before selecting a mod. You might not even get a new mod. They might feel the site runs fine without a visible one. I was not the only moderator here. There are others and there is still the administrators.
