I agree with Daren said,but remember a bad habit replace with a good habit,because if don't you will only go from bad to worst.

Go to jail, no smokers, dopers, boozers there. However, if your trying to break a nail biting habit don't go to jail, you will eat your fingers.

Agree with Daren "replace it with a new habit".
Suggestion the old rubber band on the wrist works if you want it too. Wear a band and if your habit is farting in public (PHEW you didn`t have to prove me right) when you feel the urge snap the band. Don`t snap it too hard you might frighten shit out of yourself and you can hardly pretend that it wasn`t you.

In all seriousness some pyhsical action will help break the habit,

Avoid it at all cost.. That is my plan.. I am going to pick up healthier habits too... Working out and drinks a boat load of water....
