    How do I install Linux OS to a seperate partition?

    You download it to either your disc drive or a flash drive. You then have the option of running it from that drive or loading it onto your hard drive. I've never installed it on a hard drive which already has a Windows OS, but I'm sure the installation instructions will do that for you. I recommend Linux Ubuntu, which I am using now. Its free, and it doesn't get viruses.
