Of course it is! & if we don't start to treat it like one we won't have it much longer.It has an incredible ability to heal itself but we need to slow down the damage we are doing.

No it is not a living thing no more that a flower pot is to the flower.. Thins of organic matter will thrive here as they do in a flower pot. The resurgence of plant life in this flower pot keeps the ph factor balanced to continue to support more life, the earth is a flower pot constantly cleaning itself and renewing itself. I doubt seriously that we mere earthlings have much control over the fact this planet lives or dies. In the 4 million years we have been here to say that the last 100 years earth has been in a battle with us is silly IMO.. If anything, earth is killing more of us than we are causing injury to earth in the way of natural disasters, hurricanes, tornadoes, tsunamis, floods etc.. Go away AlGore, you made enough money on this BS..

Too put this in a different perspective look at the Earth as a biologic structure and on thei structure there is another biologic organism but this organism is cancerous because cancer cells multiply and kill out the other surrounding cells , so what is the cancer to the earth called?
