      Just make sure to buy a new one with your next car, if they ask for it back you may have to loose it temporarily.

        When you junk a car here in New Hampshire, you retain the license plate. When you purchase another car, you take the plate and your new car information to the Motor Vehicle Dept. and transfer the plate to the new car.

          In uk we would take off number plates then take car to scrapyard, put the number plates in shed for a rainy day.

            You can also go for number plates design which is offered by several companies. They could actually re-make your number plate with the design of your choice.
