    How to convince a 4 years old Boston terrier to love and be comfortable around open water?

    -during camping (fresh water)
    -Never experienced open water
    -no experience in swimming
    -does not like bath

      If the dog doesn't want to go into the water then don't make him. Having a bath once in a while is a totally different matter. Being able to give him the assurance you aren't going to hurt him while giving him a bath may take some time. I recommend reading Cesar Millan's book, there is advice on how to deal with dogs that have issues like this.

        Try giving him one of his usual feedings near the water; animals associate food with comfort and security. Have you had him since he was a pup? Because it sounds like he may have had a traumatic experience with water.
