A soft covered ball will generally require a higher swing speed than a hard covered ball. Generally, with a stiff shaft club, a soft shell will need about 90-100 mph swing, but a regular shaft will only require about 80-90 mph swing. There are other conditions involved in order to obtain the most of any golf ball.
