Well, first, you get a sheet of paper. Then get a pen. Put your address and date on the top right-hand corner. Then go down to the left side and begin with, Dear Sir/Madam or if it is a friend, write, Dear Lilly, then go down to the next line. Leave a little margin and just write whatever you wish:

Dear Lilly,
Yesterday, the cat peed all over my carpet. The dog bit the postman, he thought it was my husband.
The oil in the pan caught fire and my house burnt to the ground. Now I am homeless, and I want to know if you can put me up at your house.
