Are you happy with your Doctor ?

Or do you feel you need to get a 2nd opinion.

Yep, picked a nice young female GP and very happy with her. Also have a female RNP that does my yearly physical. She doesn't let too much get past her either. On the ball and ready to refer me to a specialist with issues beyond her experience.
No. I've had five cardiologists in three years. Each prescribing a different drug than previously prescribed. I felt like a Guinea pig. This one I have now has been put on notice, treat me like a file number and I will blow you off like the previous assholes. That's exactly what I said to him. So far so good. Had one come in to my hospital room years back, and after telling him I smoked he replied,"No wonder your here", I picked up my lunch tray and threw it at him, and to him to get the F**k out and don't come back. If it wasn't for idiots like me, smoking, he'd be out of a job.

How did you go reading "How to Win Friends and Influence People" Ed?

Seriously what would be the good of changing cardioligist if they all did exactly the same thing, same drugs, ponder on it,.You just may as well have stayed with the first one.

I have to be honest every doctor I have ever been to in Australia have been most professional and after all what is the good of getting professional advice and not taking it?

Must confess our health professionals are more likely to say" Yes unfotuneately there was a lot we were not aware of regards smoking, fortuneately now we do."

We, here in the states are slowly running short of doctors. Their case loads are such that they don't know who you are anymore. Your just a number on a Manila folder. I demand the same courtesy I give them. They have no business passing judgment on me, that's for God to decide. Getting a second opinion is always a smart thing to do with any potentially fatal condition. My experiences with doctors throughout my lifetime has not been favorable. Simple procedures have nearly cost me my life on more than one occasion. Their patients have the same contempt for them as a used car salesman.
not only is my GP excellent, she is super hot! ;-)
I'm happy with mine, a female.
Honestly: General practitioners know no shit....... i can put hundreds of experiences with them, but i can't be stuffed now..

A doctor and his wife were having a big argument at breakfast.
"You aren't so good in bed either!" he shouted and stormed off to work.
By midmorning, he decided he'd better make amends and phoned home. After many rings, his wife picked up the phone.
"What took you so long to answer?"
    "I was in bed."
"What were you doing in bed this late?"
    "Getting a second opinion."

    Thats a beauty...lol
    My GP is fine.
My GP is also a lady and very efficient and easy to talk to. My cardioligist is also extremely highly regarded. I have never had a bad experience with any Specialist or GP.
May be Australia or Australians are a bit different from some of the comments on this question.
