can a father pay child support to the child instead of the mother?

father is in arrears and I plan to go through child services. His response was to pay our son the child support via a checking account in his name...my son is 15

What does your divorce or court order say about to whom the money will be paid? The child support is paid for the purpose of providing a home, food, clothing etc for the child. A 15 year old is not of age.

Exactly. I know this to be true...I have tried to be civil...but now it's about protecting my child. Thanks

I have to check the decree. But I'm sure it was to me. Thanks
Child support is child support. It means support of the child while he is under age and in the care of his parent(s). Your ex has to give the money to you to help support the cost of raising your son.
great in theory, but i thinks its best for the parent to manage the money, at age 15 its hard to be responcible for anything let alone money..
    K....thanks again!
