WHAT ABOUT "FAITH" IS SO DIFFICULT?

For me it comes natural it's in sync with my soul. For others... is it science or denial that makes faith out of their reach? Life is difficult and much about it makes no sense,it's temporary, look around you,all that was created, the stars the mountains..a stork did not bring us here. How do you feel?Comment please.

Faith has no meaning unless it is attached to something or someone.

Everyone must exercise faith throughout their lives in many ways at different times in their lives.

Is faith "difficult"? Sometimes. Is faith in God difficult? Not really if one only looks at the world they live in, all the millions of species and the complexity of it all.

The real difficulty is submission. People do not like the idea that they are not in control of their own life. They want to be the last word for themselves, their own god and form their own beliefs about religion or create a god in their own image of what they believe a God should be.

You make a very valid point, people want to be in control,in their minds faith means strings are attached, for me it's easy to to be submissive to Jesus, although I know I'm not perfect.I cant see trying to mold God into what ''I'' think he should be,to create him in my image in order to do what ''I'' feel I should be able to do,that just doesn't seem practical.Great post!

    Good point IluvJesus,

I believe as we grow in Christ faith becomes stronger and submissiveness becomes easier. We come to learn that we are not in control, God is, and we come to realize that this is a good thing because if we decided for ourselves what is morally right and wrong far too many people would suffer at our decisions having been made out of passion or ignorance. What better place to be than in the will of God? Hey that sounds like a good question to ask, I think I will post it!
It's difficult for some, because, they have to see in order to believe.
    IluvJesus

I agree, they just don't have what it takes...faith means so much, but it's what you don't see, that's so authentic and powerful, like I always say life is temporary,it's what you do here and now that counts. They need to wake up.
I think the most difficult thing about faith for some people is TRUST. Many people have been burned so many times by so many it's difficult to trust anyone.

Like mentioned already believing in something not seen, is also an obstacle. The condition of this fallen world can really have negative effects, when people loose loved ones, or just the concept of God can be a difficult pill to swallow.

    IluvJesus

Yes, your very right the ''trust'' issue is a big obstacle for many with faith, and faith is based on trust. But when you ''Really'' have faith then the trust comes so very natural.:)
Yes faith is difficult for a lot of people. don't expect everyone to be the same as you. your life has different experiences...you cannot judge everyone the same, because you never know what they've been through. if you see someone on the streets that doesn't have faith in god, your not meant to hate them... for some reason, ah god, okay i'm going i'm going...
    IluvJesus

You are right, a lot of people thought Jesus was a crazy man,but he knew who he was and what his purpose was.I know of some people that have been through so much they have every reason not to believe, and yet they choose to have faith and they believe.I personally don't expect everyone to be the same as me,to each his own and so be it.

good to hear that :) faith 'is' complicated...

The answer is quite simple and can be answered in just one word.

    Faith.

And I'm privileged to have it.

    Indeed, you must be.
I often ponder over the 37,000 registered religious sects that have jurisdiction over an estimated 2 Billion souls that claim to be Christian and I wonder how it is that so many can be so naive and misled about what Christ actually taught and what their bible really teaches?

I have just watched a vile program on ITV about pedophile priests in faith schools and how prominent church officials including the Pope are still covering up, trying to pretend that it never happened in case they get sued.

At this moment there are at least five wars occurring in Asian and Middle eastern countries, but do not worry about collateral damage as long as the troops went to church service, and have Gods blessing, we can give them a heroes burial.

Neither the UN or the countries that invaded under the UN banner have the foggiest idea of how to stop these wars and the arms dealers certainly do not want them stopped.

Is it any wonder there are so many atheists in this world?
Is it any wonder that so many victims of oppression are beside themselves with grief and hatred? The victims are not just the slayen but the families they leave behind.

"But I am not worried because I-luv-Jesus and my minister says I will go to heaven when I die."

Really but did Jesus say that?

"Oh yes its in the Bible John 14:2 'In my fathers house are many mansions. I go to prepare a place for you.'

But did you ever read verse 3?
    IT TALKS ABOUT CHRISTS RETURN!!!???

So has Christ returned yet? or are we still waiting?
If we are waiting where are all the dead people who have died during the last 2,000 years?

Tell me if you know and explain how your answer harmonizes with
    John 3:13?

Please permit me to point out that resorting to abuse means you do not know the answer.

Sadly I have not expressed the half of my true thoughts yet.

"Please permit me to point out that resorting to abuse means you do not know the answer."

This is the sorriest example of trying to get people not to disagree with your religion's made up interpretations that I've ever seen. What you call abuse is someone responding to you who does not have blinders on. I've given you answers personally and you chose to ignore them because they do not fit your limited belief system. Do not hide behind a goofy sentence designed to shield you from truths you can not accept because they do not fit your agenda.

@Bestway:   Do you know why there are so many wars in this world and you don't understand it?  There's only one word to describe this:  dogma.  Every group is ever so convinced that their religion IS the right one and the rest are fake.

You believe in "my Father's house there are many mansions" and they believe in the 15 virgins that await them.  I am not here to say who's right or who's wrong except that both groups have a right to believe what it is that they believe without being judgmental toward the other group.

If this is truly a free country, we all should respect all religious beliefs.

If you don't agree with the way they practice their faith, don't call them "radicals."  Have an open mind!

How on earth did you ponder over 37,000 registered religious sects and still be this closed minded?

Correction. It's 72 virgins NOT 15. Don't short sell the courageous Muslims that put their lives on the line for a just religious cause.

Would you consider being a suicide bomber is ALL you were rewarded with was 15 lousy teenagers ?
    Chiangmai

I hereby stand corrected, digster. 75 shall be deemed "virgins galore."

True faith MUST be based on accurate knowledge. It must NOT be contaminated with false doctrine whether pagan or man made philosophy.

Credulity is not faith hence we read:

    Psalm 146:3-5

    American Standard Version (ASV)

3 Put not your trust in princes, Nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.

4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; In that very day his thoughts perish.

5 Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in Jehovah his God:

So what is that scripture telling us about the human condition?

    1. Nothing about the human condition is immortal.

    2. You need not fear the fires of hell because the Bible does not teach that (compare Ecc 9:5&10

    3. Neither are you going to a heavenly bliss because you are dead and conscious of NOTHING.

    4. It does not matter who you are, whether King, Queen, Prince, Bishop or even Pope; when you die you are dead and fully dependent on Jehovah and his anointed Judge Jesus Christ to call you  in the resurrection.

So the atheists actually have it half right, but they loose out because they are not obedient to the word of God. Most of the 'Christians' loose out because they have allowed themselves to be taken in by a conglomeration of false doctrine which even the Catholic Encyclopedia admits was borrowed from Greek philosophy and pagan sources to appease the uneducated masses of past centuries.    Compare 2 Peter 3:15, 16.

Christ Jesus came into the world to save us sinners. He came to save the meek ones, not the self righteous or self opinionated. He warned he would separate the sheep from the goats and the wheat from the tares. Jesus illustrations are symbolic of permanent death for some but rich blessings for those who earnestly try to seek and please him.
