    what country in EU is the easiest for an American with no family roots to get to live there?

    I am wanting more than a visa for 90 days. I want to be able to live in almost any where but can't get permission based on grandparent being Italian etc. So what about Croatia etc. what can I do to come and go? Dual citizenship?

      Ireland might be easiest, all Americans claim Irish ancestry (even O'Bama). I am sure if you searched hard enough an Irish ancestor would appear.You would not have language problems there.
      Otherwise UK possibly.
