    If you melt butter in a bowl is it necessary to rinse it with hot water before putting it in the dishwasher?

    Most dishwasher detergents claim that they get even tough dried on stuff off the dishes but I would rather not take a chance, which doubles the work. Butter is just grease and I should think the dishwasher detergent and the hot water cycle would remove all the grease.

    I think that too. Husband and I had quite a discussion about this.
    If its a lot of butter left over you would be better scraping it out first then rinsing before you put it in the dishwasher
    why not just wash it by hand then you know its done right!!
