Can you tell us how far your steps are? Measure from your heel where you begin to the tip of your toe when your foot comes down.
This will tell you how many inches are in each step.


There are 5,280 feet in a mile.
There are 12 inches in a foot.

If you can get the number of inches in your step you can figure out the answer.

In the Aussie army marching was at a 30" stride or as we referred to it 30" tread. Heel of left foot to heel of right foot.
So if a tread(step) is 30" divide 15140 by 30 then divide that answer by 5,280 (inches in a mile)

a step is considered three feet
so 15140 steps would be 45420 feet
divide 45420 by 5280 feet (one us mile) =8.6 miles

You can't answer this question without knowing the measurements of the stairs, you can only estimate it by the average type of stair. There are to many stair shapes and sizes to figure this one out exactly. Not to mention are you measuring the distance you are elevating as well as the length of the distance?
